The Benefits of Using Solar Reflective Paint - Cool Your Building Down

Solar reflective paint (Protective Top Coat), also known as cool roof coatings, are specially formulated paints that are applied to surfaces in order to reduce the amount of heat absorbed by that surface. This can be particularly useful in hot climates, where the reduction in heat absorption can help to keep buildings cool, reducing the need for air conditioning and cutting energy costs.

There are several key ingredients that are commonly found in solar reflective paint, including reflective pigments, which are designed to reflect sunlight away from the surface. The reflective pigments used in these paints can include aluminum, titanium dioxide, and zinc oxide. In addition to reflective pigments, solar reflective paint also often contains infrared-absorbing pigments, which are designed to absorb and dissipate the heat that is absorbed by the surface.

One of the main advantages of solar reflective paint is that it can be applied to a wide range of surfaces, including metal, concrete, and asphalt. This makes it a versatile option for a variety of different building types, from homes and apartment buildings to warehouses and industrial facilities.

In addition to its ability to reduce heat absorption and energy costs, solar reflective paint also has several other benefits. For example, it can help to prolong the lifespan of the surfaces it is applied to by protecting them from the damaging effects of UV rays and extreme temperatures. Additionally, solar reflective paint can improve the overall aesthetic of a building, as it is available in a wide range of colors and finishes.

All screws, cracks, holes and other leaking areas have been waterproofed with our RTT - Waterproof Sealant (Liquid Rubber) prior to applying the white RTT - Protective Top Coat (Solar Reflective Paint).

A heat reduction of 13% was achieved 24h after application.

It's important to note that the effectiveness of solar reflective paint can vary depending on the type of surface it is applied to and the conditions under which it is used. Factors such as the angle of incidence of the sun, the altitude and the climate condition can affect the reflectivity rate of the paint.

In conclusion, solar reflective paint is a useful tool for keeping buildings cool, reducing energy costs and improving the overall lifespan of surfaces. By reflecting sunlight and dissipating heat, it can help to make buildings more comfortable and energy-efficient, making it a great option for anyone looking to reduce their environmental footprint or lower their energy bills.
